CNC intro, 3D printer, laser cutter, wax printer... etc.

W6C3 - Modern technique intro.

The final class today is meant to wrapped up and introducing of all the modern techniques. Such as how CNC milling function and communicate, injection molding, 3D printing, etc.. We appreciate Ben at Rapidtech giving a quick introduction of all the machines.

Fresh-cooked little cuties from printing machine. They need to shower a bit.

The class come to an end at this moment. Hope the world is at least slightly different and becoming amazing in their eyes.

New teflon burner base insulator

According to the need of adding the degree of freedom on coordinate of the experiment burner, a new burner base is needed under the constrain of limited height with respect to where the laser beam is situated.

A simple practice of CAD design and drawing.

After a series of constrains as well as the estimation of the effective insulation thickness, a 3/8" teflon square bar is chosen 7000th thicker than expected.

The block requires milling to facing down to 3/8 within 1000th to 2000th tolerance. Taping with 1/4-20 blind hole.

Finishing week! — Women Fabrication Training

W6C1 - finishing part B(cap) on lathe, starting moving on the mill
W6C2 - working on the mill, drill and taping the set screw, end mill, stamp grooving, grinding sharpen tip, sand blasting

We make a rod into a scriber!
Kita and Megan is excited to see the tool they made.

Success

Success is not how many you can defeat.

It is how much you can help.

When things are not function — check and change

There should always a reason that leads to the item not working.  So do not panic about getting a new item, instead you can actually check and change for most of the time.

This is one small example of the old style car cigarette charger greedily splitting into three and malfunction.

It is how you see the world matters

This is not about what it already is. It is why.

Technologies bring convenience to us. But this world does not change as much as it turns. For those days before internet becomes ease of access, people have to grab a book to read and then get knowledge. Knowledge is now in everyone's hands. The fast path to acquire all the information no mater in which categories, such as social connection, or knowledge of science could have make this earth become a whole awesome world, may bring us a peaceful, kind, and well-developed palace. It turns out the population does not get ultrasmart as the development  Let's think about if the world is different from last generation or two generations before? It did change a lot. How about people/human beings? Did we change as much as this world? If we could shift the attention from only thinking about the appearance of ourselves, such as what to talk, how do I look, what I like and want, and transfer the focus on those things around our lives which were taken for granted. The world would be wonderful! It is how much you get to understand, see and feel it, and neither what it was in your eyes or how much you fear/dare.
